Why Leadership? Why Now?
I sit here writing this after being confronted with a personal situation that has been on a loop lately. You know the kind I mean: the ones that come up again and again and just as you thought they were resolved, another curve ball is thrown your way.
These kinds of situations used to derail me; take me out for days. Have me questioning my power, my capacity and spiralling into the: “Why ME?”.
Used to.
Now, at this point in my journey, after eight years of dedicated, intentional work to increase my personal power, my sovereignty, my agency, my presence, my voice, my leadership, they present me with an opportunity: refinement.
To calibrate to leadership is: to embody it. It’s not surface-level, performative work. It’s a calling: to unquestionably choose to believe in my capacity over my perceived limitations; no matter what the situation may look like in the moment or what the world has decided it should be.
Embodied leadership is a through-line of my work with women. When I speak of leadership, I am not only speaking of leadership roles, I am speaking of the leadership frequency : the thread that calls us to rise higher in every aspect of our lives. The decision to move as CEO in every moment and the knowing that when we falter, we have full capacity to lead ourselves back. It is the essence of true empowerment and it is the invitation in these times.
To be Chief Executive Officer of our lives means we stop allowing scenarios, people, situations to take us out of our power. We stop allowing our capacity to be determined by external circumstances. We decide to move in power, with power, every damn day: To see where we are being called to re-work a situation; to do something differently; To acknowledge where we have been out-sourcing power to other people, stories, limiting beliefs and take responsibility; To feel the full capacity and ownership we are being called to claim as ours.
Leadership in it all,
through it all,
for it all.
Not in an attempt to gas-light or by-pass the difficult situations in our lives; Not from performing capacity; Not from a place of heavy responsibility, resignation or martyrdom but from a place of powerful acknowledgment of the ones God created us to be:
Power-FULL, master-FULL, capable, clear, anchored, willing to rise to the occasion even in the hard; especially in the hard.
And we’re all being called into this work at the moment; because the world we currently see, is the way it is because so many of us have been content with giving our power away to systems, structures, beliefs and people, that we have deemed to be more powerful than us. Outsourcing our intuition, our knowing, to those who “know better”; choosing to believe we have “no choice”, we are “but one person” and that obedience is synonymous with being “good”.
The reclamation work I do with women; the leadership recoding; the energetic activation is in favour of their life! Their life! It’s a calling forward of the power that has always existed within them. To fully own it; every aspect, and to really show up for it with all that they have.
I’ve watched women in my spaces gain clarity on what truly matters, what they value and how they want to live their lives moving forward; open their hearts and minds to quiet visions they wouldn’t dare acknowledge; rework relationships they thought they had lost; uncover life-force that had been buried under imposed roles; reclaim the power of their voice and set boundaries; declare new standards for who they are and the life they are building.
And I couldn’t lead women through this work, if I didn’t lead myself first. If I didn’t choose, again and again, to remember WHO I am and HOW I choose to show up for my life:
ALL in,
ALIVE!
To move in the frequency of leadership:
In devoted service and mastery to the power God infused within me.
Victim-hood has no place here; that is a daily choice I make.
